(See also Foot Defence Techniques)

[tkd]

Kicking

Foot attack techniques are all kicks, and are are divided into four categories:

Piercing kicks (Cha jirugi)

Smashing kicks (Cha busigi)

Other kicks

Flying kicks (Twimyo chagi)

Flying kicks are variations of the other types of kicks, performed while both feet are off the ground, and can be both spectacular to behold and devastating. They can be used to close the distance to an opponent, evade attacks, or attack high targets.

Ground Techniques (Noowo bal gisoo)

Ground techniques are the application of kicking techniques while on the ground, useful after having been knocked over or surprised while lying down.

Multiple Attack Techniques

Double Attack (I-jung gong gyok)

A double attack is where the same type of attack is delivered twice in succession in the same direction by the same attacking tool. Can be directed against one or two opponents, horizontally or vertically, to the front or to the side.

Triple Attack (Sam-jung gong gyok)

A triple attack is where the same type of attack is delivered three times in succession in the same direction by the same attacking tool.

Consecutive Attack (Yonsok gong gyok)

A consecutive attack is where two or more attacks are executed in succession by the same foot in different directions or with different attacking tools.

Combination Attack (Honap gong gyok)

A combination attack is where two or more attacks are executed in succession by both feet while in mid-air.

Flying Kick Techniques

In addition, all kicks can be delivered while flying, that is, having both feet off the ground at the moment of impact.
